Checking a message
To check a message:
- Copy the text of the message.
- Paste it into the message field, and add the sender information.
- Tap Check message.
The message can include both text and links. There is no need to remove anything before checking. The Message Checker evaluates the whole message for signs of a scam and returns a result.
Recent messages
Previously checked messages are kept in a Recent messages list on the screen, making it easy to look back at an earlier result. These messages are stored locally on the device. To remove a message from the list, tap the three-dot menu icon (⋮) next to it and choose to delete it.
If the result does not seem right
If the result does not match what was expected, feedback can be given directly from the result screen. This feedback helps improve the accuracy of future checks.
A note on results
The Message Checker uses an AI model to analyze messages, and like any AI, it can make mistakes. A result is a strong signal, not a guarantee. It is best treated as one part of a wider judgment rather than the final word.
The oldest rule still applies: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is. When a message raises doubt, it is worth pausing before replying, sharing details, or clicking a link.
